Hannah & Jon’s Wedding ~ Old Alresford House

I was driving down the M3 listening to the weather forecast and inwardly wincing. It wasn’t looking good, but it was Hannah & Jon’s big day, and as I approached Old Alresford House I thought to myself , you know what McKee? No weather is going to spoil this lovely couples day, and of course it didn’t.

I  first met Hannah and Jon between Christmas and New Year ( those that know me will understand when I say this wasn’t a particularly good time for me), but I so enjoyed meeting the couple and through our engagement shoot and our communications leading up to their wedding, it’s been an absolute pleasure. The wedding day itself was the cherry on the top, perfect in so many ways.

I was very lucky to have the lovely Emma second shooting for me and this meant she was able to go on to the church to capture some lovely candid shots of guests arriving and of course Jon and his grooms party. I am always very happy to work alone, but on occasions having a second photographer means we are able to capture just that little bit more and I can slow down from my normal manic pace! This was just as well because there was just so many gorgeous things to photograph at the splendid Old Alresford House from the pool and gardens to the beautiful bridal suite. Then of course there was the picture perfect Hannah, with her lovely bridesmaids, parents and angelic looking flower girls.

It was just a lovely lovely day and despite fears of the rain preventing our bride and groom and group shots, we need not have worried. I put in an order for a bit of sun and a rainbow and they were delivered perfectly on time. 😉

Hannah chose a beautiful colour combination of peaches and cream, her David Austin rose and white Scabious bouquet by Fiori By Lynne was stunning.

The couple’s wedding day coincided with New Alresford’s ‘Thomas The Tank Engine’ festival which meant parking in the village would be at a premium, so they hired an old London Routemaster to take Hannah and the bridal party to the church and bring everyone back to the reception after the ceremony.

Hannah’s brother read the popular ‘A Lovely Love Story‘ by Edward Monkton complete with props!

Hannah commissioned her wedding cake after seeing my daughter’s 5th birthday cake on the blog. Nina, of Cakes By Nina did a fabulous job and the cake matched Hannah’s colour scheme perfectly.
