Introducing Folio Albums ~ {Fine Art Wedding Albums}

Something Special

I want to introduce you to something I think is very special, but first a little background.

All my wedding packages include  fully edited high definition images on a disk. Lets face it, these days that’s what we all want. We want to be able to view our images on our rather large HD TV’s,  view them where ever we go on our lap tops and i Pads, and share them with friend and family across the globe via the internet. Technology really has revolutionized the wedding industry, and personally I am very glad because of it, I embrace it…..well actually I love it! Without wishing to sound too big headed, my images look fab on a large computer screen or even better a large TV.

When I shoot a wedding, I have the story of the day in mind. I can see how individual images will look together and how as a collection they will tell the story of your day. You see despite all this technology, for me it’s all about the story and creating something that will hold the special memories with an aesthetic charm as well as a quality that will do your images proud. Well I have to say, wedding albums are not a thing of the past.

A year ago I started to look around for a beautiful wedding album that I would be happy to share with my Bride and Grooms, and  boy, was I confronted by a massive choice. There were digital and non digital aperture types, and the covers, well you had wood, metal, acrylic, tasteful, less that tasteful, basically a frustrating choice and nothing I felt could really represent my work! Then I came across an amazing product at a trade show, simply called Folio.

Quality

Folio albums are hand bound and encased in gorgeous, natural leather, they open out flat with an almost invisible crease, so each image is on full view. Folio use fine art, archival quality papers and inks so that your album will quite literally last a lifetime and beyond. To do justice to your albums’ fine art paper, they use the latest pigment-based inks. These archival quality inks take colour reproduction to another level that can’t be reached by traditional photographic printing. The result is images in high resolution with a pure clarity that lasts, even along the crease and unlike photographic prints, the inks will never crack and discolour when the page is folded.

Choice

There is a choice of two paper types; Art White is a bright, icy white paper that reproduces a dazzling spectrum of colours to give images instant vivacity. Art Cotton is 100% cotton rag with a gentle texture. A slightly warmer white, it’s got museum-worthy archival qualities and gives razor sharp image definition that will stand the test of time.

These albums are so tactile, you will want to run your fingers across them. They are finished with natural leathers of the finest quality and durability – the kind you’ll find on lavish yachts and when flying first class.

  • Contemporary Leather range is strong but tactile and comes in Ebony, Ivory, Pillar Box, Plum, Nut Brown and Jade.
  • Vintage Leather range is more of a soft touch. This supple, silky hide comes in Berry, Chocolate, Rust and Toffee.

Green

The quality of the product doesn’t just end there, your album will be wrapped in a sleeve made from natural, unbleached cotton that’s been washed in spring water, then placed carefully in a sleek keepsake box made from recycled materials. yep, these albums are truly green! They are made in the UK using as many local suppliers as Folio can source to cut down the jet fuel used to bring it to you. Their paper is recycled or bought from sustainable sources wherever possible, and they use environmentally friendly packaging that protects your albums while keeping waste to a minimum.

So here is my Folio album which I’d like to share with you and I just love it. I have gone for a gorgeous cover of chocolate vintage leather and art White paper which is perfect for this wedding’s bright vibrant colours.
