A two day homestead wedding extravaganza with late afternoon meadow ceremony.\u00a0 Luxury staging with marquee, live music, street food trucks, and fireworks display.<\/h5>\n

Last weekend was all about Kat and Jon’s fabulous wedding celebrations at their Hertfordshire ‘homestead’. It was absolutely brilliant and memorable in so many ways.<\/p>\n

The couple originally booked me to shoot their Guernsey wedding, but like so many couples their plans had to be changed. First postponing, and then conceding that Guernsey was looking tricky if they were going to have the celebrations they wanted. So what better place than their homestead, with extensive room for their afternoon wedding ceremony, luxury marquee, trendy food trucks (for day 2), live music, and fireworks! It all came together beautifully with the hard work and dedication of a team of wonderful suppliers, headed up by wedding planner, Jenna Hewitt.<\/p>\n

Day One<\/h5>\n

On Friday I began cover during the afternoon as final preparations were under way. The marquee was looking so pretty, and all set for the wedding breakfast (check out those beautiful florals from Fig & Flower. Wow). Meanwhile, Kat and her bridesmaids were in the house having their wedding hair, makeup and nails done by Mel Kinsmen and her talented team of hair and makeup artists. I set about shooting some candid ‘getting ready’ shots and tried my best not to pounce straight away on Kat’s satin and pearl Jimmy Choo’s! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Just before 5pm I made my way across the fields to where Jon and guests were preparing for the ceremony. With the sun shining, the fizz flowing, and string quartet providing the music, the scene was most definitely set for a beautiful ceremony. The couple planned for their dogs to be involved, and they certainly were. Maybe it didn’t go quite as planned, but as any dog lover will appreciate, we all secretly love it when things get a little frisky and out of hand. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The ceremony, conducted by celebrant Tamryn Lawrence, was relaxed, and full of joy and emotion. For various reasons it’s not been the easiest few weeks for the couple, and this was a moment not just of happiness, but also reflexion.<\/p>\n

After the ceremony, and aided by Odin the German Shepherd, we took a few moments to capture some beautiful bride and groom portraits in the field not far from where the ceremony had taken place. Then Jon drove his bride back across the fields in his vintage convertible Triumph (with a few high speed donuts thrown in for good measure) , to the marquee and awaiting guests.<\/p>\n

Day Two<\/h5>\n

After the intimate feel of day one, day two was big wedding party time! With 150 guests expected, the marquee was reconfigured for music and dance. Various food trucks were set up to feed hungry guests, including a taco truck, Lebanese street food, Argentine BBQ, and luxury ice cream stand. The air was full of the smoky delicious aroma of food, and the guys from Libation Bar served very delicious looking (and probably tasting) cocktails.<\/p>\n

Music was provided a DJ, then later the fantastic Emma And The Idles<\/em> took to the stage, bashing out some classics, as well as some of Kat’s favourite’s songs!<\/p>\n

After food, and cocktails, and speeches and dance, came fireworks. Then more live music and dance. I knocked off at 11pm, and the party was still going strong.<\/p>\n
