An Summer Early Evening Family Lifestyle Session With Hector The Rescue Dog And His New Forever Family

Today I have a really special family lifestyle session to share with you from an early evening session last night. Lynne is one of my oldest friends (we went to school together), so I was chuffed when she asked to book a family shoot with husband Gareth, their daughter, and brand new family member Hector.

A Little About Hector

Hector was originally a free roaming (free spirited) señor, hailing from Spain. Now he’s a Mr hailing from Surrey, and loving life with his new adoring family. If ever you could see an example of the happiness and joy that introducing a dog into the family can bring, just take a look at these photographs!

I met up with the family at a disused golf club that is local to us, which provided lovely swishy long grass, that always looks lush in photographs, and a wild flower meadow. It was an absolute gem of a location (suggested by Lynne) perfect for a family lifestyle session, and I’m sure I’ll return again. This really is a snapshot of the family’s lifestyle, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Hector got to have a good run around, and so did I. 😉

We met at 7.30pm just as the sun was beginning to set, and the light was golden and dreamy and everything I could have wished for. We had a very light shower, but then got a rainbow! How fabulous is that?!

Lynne told me she and Gareth hadn’t really had any proper photographs taken of themselves since their wedding day, so it was an absolute delight to be able to take these photographs for them to have for always. They really show the couple I know; warm, loving, fun, and just fabulous all round people.

Often we hire a professional photographer for those big occasions in our lives, such as weddings, but I really do believe investing in a family shoot like this is absolutely priceless. If I could take photographs of me with my family like this I’d be a very happy bunny (not sure how I’d take them and be in them though). They’re just such a lovely thing to have for now, and for generations to come.

I can’t really pick any favourites here, I love them all and hope they do. This is one of only a few recent sessions shot on my new Sony mirrorless kit and I have to say I am absolutely loving it and can’t wait for more family shoots as well as weddings getting going again!
