A Wedding Of University Sweethearts At Royal Holloway University With Pretty Lilac Themed Details
Becky and Max met each other back in 2015 at Royal Holloway University (RHUL) when Becky was studying drama and Max was studying music. It was not just the beginnings of their academic careers, but also the fortuitous beginnings of their special relationship.
Some years later on a visit back to the scene of their first meeting, Max proposed to Becky, and so it was that it could only ever be the chapel at Royal Holloway as the venue for their wedding. And what a venue, what a location. I have photographed a few Royal Holloway weddings over the years, but this is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in the university’s magnificent chapel. The gilded walls and ceiling, biblical paintings, and fine sculptures are a sight to behold, but as this is a wedding blog I shall point you in the direction of the university website should you want to find out more! 🙂
I started photographic cover at the De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor where Becky, her mum and bridesmaids were getting ready, and of course her dad got to see a ‘first look’ at his beautiful daughter in her bridal attire.
The atmosphere was excited and calm, and of Max, Becky proclaimed “I am marrying the love of my life..”
I then travelled the short distance to the university where guests were gathering and Max was looking unflustered and eager for the arrival of his beautiful bride.
The couple were absolutely blessed with the most gorgeous weather and the sunshine illuminate the chapel’s stained glass windows casting pretty light across the marble floor. It has to be one of the finest settings for a bride and her father to make their entrance, and the following marriage ceremony was equally as moving.
After the ceremony guests made their way out confront of the Founders Buildings, before confetti was thrown to a jubilient newly married couple.
Drinks were then served in the south quadrant while we spent a short time capturing some beautiful big and groom portraits. The steps of the Founders building provided great spot for some fun group shots and then everyone made their way into the Founder Dining room for the wedding breakfast, speeches, cake cutting and first dance.
This was such a lovely wedding to photograph. Becky and Max have been a joy to get to know, and I’m so thrilled they got to have the best day ever. J x
