A Fabulous & Scorching June Wedding At RAC Woodcote Park
Yesterday my 9 month wedding drought finally came to an end when I photographed the lovely Amy and Joe’s wedding at the RAC Woodcote Park. Like so many couples, Amy and Joe had to postpone their original wedding day (which turned out to be very blustery!), so to have such a beautiful June day and to be finally married was a huge high! It was scorchio, and it was an absolute belter!
I began coverage at the RAC where Amy, her mum, and bridesmaids Amelia and Jessica, were putting the finishing touches to their wedding looks. They looked fantastic, and with Champagne popped and fans on high, the ladies tried their best to stay cool and collected before they travelled to the church.
The ceremony was taking place at St Peters, Walton On The Hill, and upon my arrival I was greeted by a very nice vicar before saying hello to Joe and getting some groom and groomsman photos.
The ceremony was lovely, despite the regulations surrounding the ‘C’ word, such as having to leave the singing to the choir (which felt rather sad), but it was clear that everyone was so overjoyed to finally be together to celebrate the marriage. God knows we all need something to celebrate, and Amy and Joe totally brought it.
After the ceremony and some group shots, we made our way back to Woodcote Park. The couple and I took a diversion along the Captain’s Drive so that we could take some bride and groom portraits with the distant view of the club house.
Later there were canapés on the terrace before guests were seated to eat and later enjoy some brilliant, heartfelt speeches (not a dry eye in the house).
Having been such a beautiful day, the light was too good to waste, so I tool Amy and Joe out for a few more portraits, and I think these are my favourite photos of them together. It was a photographer’s dream!
Later there was live music and the bride and groom took their first dance. Later there was more music and lots of chair dancing by the guests. It’s not easy sitting still when you have a brilliant wedding band knocking out the hits!
Earlier today I received a lovely email from Amy which I hope she won’t mind me sharing;
