Barossa Common Family Session

An Early Evening Family Photography Session At Barossa Nature Reserve

One of the consequences of having most of my 2020 weddings postponed has been that I’ve had more time for my first love, family photography. So I was delighted when Sarah got in touch about a photography session for her family, including their teenagers who are about to move on to sixth form and their final year at uni.

We arranged to meet at one of my favourite local spots, Barossa Nature Reserve, and I was delight the family’s black lab was able to come too!

The beauty of family shoots is that you can arrange them for the very best time of day to catch the light, and of course if it’s tipping down, postpone! September has been amazing so far and we were really lucky to have the most perfect golden light, carpets of wild purple heather, and a herd of belted cattle wandering through. Oh and we even had a couple of deer (though I wasn’t quick enough to capture them!).

Family shoots are not just for young families, they are for all families, and a true emotional investment for the future. Now more than ever, I think it’s important to have great photographs of you with your loved ones (especially if you are that person who usually takes them but doesn’t feature in them). I hope these photos bring Sarah and her family lots of happy memories for many years to come.

If it’s time you had some beautiful family photographs taken do get in touch. The Autumn is a lovely time to capture colourful family memories. J x
