Zac & Jodie’s Big Beautiful Greek Fusion Wedding At The Runnymede On Thames Hotel
On a warm and sunny day in May, Zac and Jodie married at The Runnymede On Thames hotel. This was a real fusion wedding with the marriage ceremony being followed by a Greek Orthodox blessing. It was a day full of tradition, symbolism and the appreciation of both cultures. What’s more, the couple really do have the nicest families, and it was just one of those weddings that felt great to be a part of, and so much fun to capture.
My day began with capturing Jodie’s final preparations. Jodie is so beautiful and naturally elegant, she also bears more than a passing resemblance to Angelina Jolie. Makeup artist Mel and I just couldn’t keep our eyes off her! *girl crush* 
I loved Jodie’s Pronovias ‘Dietrich’ dress. She told me that she had trained as a dancer, but at the point of starting to audition for West End shows, sadly had to give it up. The white feathers, reminiscent of Swan Lake, were therefore the perfect detail. 
Whilst I was photographing the bridal party, I was lucky to be joined by Ellie, who captured perfectly Zac and his family and their traditional groom preparations. 
I have to tell you, I especially enjoyed documenting the couple’s Greek Orthodox blessing. It was not what I was expecting it at all. There were rituals and prayers, but there was also great humour, and I’m talking hysterics! 
After the throwing of the confetti, we took a little walk to Long Mede pasture, which looked completely stunning awash with glorious buttercups. It’s hard to imagine, but this part of Runnymede was completely submerged during the January floods. We couldn’t have asked for a better location for some beautiful couples portraits. 
The couple picked a great band, Olympus, that included musicians like Lenios, whose Bouzouki transported the entire wedding party and the Runnymede On Thames became a little bit of Greece!
