Great Fosters Wedding Photography

Great Fosters is such a special venue, and one I’ve loved photographing weddings at for over a decade now. If you are looking for an historical, picturesque venue, with both gorgeous interiors and exterior space for your wedding, that’s also close to London but with a country feel, then you could not pick a more beautiful setting.

I do have to declare a bias here, because Great Fosters was the venue my husband I also chose for our wedding, and so you can imagine it’s extra special for me, and another reason why I love returning.

The first time you visit Great Foster’s you’ll be struck by the grandeur of this Tudor estate which originally sat within Windsor Great Park. The estate has been owned by several families over the centuries, including of course the Fosters through the 17th and into the 18th century. It was also at one time a ‘lunatic asylum’ and it is said that George III was treated there towards the end of his life, but moving swiftly on….

These days, and with fairly recent new ownership and renovation, Great Fosters has never looked better. The house has a magnificent tithe barn which can accomodate large weddings, an orangery where civil wedding ceremonies are held, and superb original ‘Arts and Crafts’ gardens that include a fabulous Japanese bridge. In fact the gardens are one of the best features in terms of wedding photography. Despite shooting many weddings at Great Fosters, I can always find a new spot for bride and groom portraits. You really are spoilt for choice!

What I Love
  1. The beautiful historic rooms for getting ready and spending your wedding night in, especially the Tapestry room!
  2. Everything is in one place with ample rooms for all your guests.
  3. The Tithe Barn dressed with fresh bright flowers and twinkly fairy lights, and in the winter, with a lovely log fire.
  4. The Orangery for your ceremony (it’s spacious and bright), and that moment when the doors open to reveal the bride.
  5. The gardens. They are just spectacular and perfect for all your group shots and couple’s photographs. Could not love them more!

Here’s a selection of wedding photos from just some of the weddings I’ve photographed at Great Fosters over the years. If you have booked this amazing location for your wedding and have arrived here looking for wedding photography inspiration and ideas, do get in touch. I’d love to hear from you and maybe I’ll be your wedding photographer too.

“I mean WOW just WOW you really have done exactly what I knew you would do and have taken the most amazing pictures and captured our day perfectly. Thank you SO very much – we cannot wait to see all of them but these will keep us sweet for now! You were the first supplier we booked for our wedding day back in 2016 before we even started planning the day and it was the best decision – you’ve given us perfect memories to be able to look back on for the rest of our lives………’

THANK YOU! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our photographs! We’ve looked over them so many times over the last few days! We passed the link on to family and closest friends and everyone has said how stunning the photos are and what an amazing photographer you are (obviously we knew this!).”
