Venue Focus: Wadhurst Castle In Photographs

Here’s a selection of favourite Wadhurst Castle venue photographs to give you a virtual tour of this magnificent mansion and grounds

Wadhurst Castle is one of the most beautiful wedding venues I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings at, and when documenting a wedding I love to take plenty of ‘scene setting’ shots. This post is basically an opportunity for me to share all my favourite Wadhurst Castle shots with you. Of course if you have just started your venue search and have found me whilst searching for photos of Wadhurst Castle you’ve definitely come to the right place. I hope these photos give you a really good idea of what the venue has to offer. At the end of the post you’ll also find a list of other venders associated with these weddings.

About The Venue

Wadhurst Castle is situated on the borders of Kent and East Sussex in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as the High Weald. The property, a 19th-century castellated mansion, sits in an elevated position with absolutely breathtaking views across the countryside beyond. On a clear day it seems you can see for many miles, and the venue feels private and very special.

One of the many things I love about the venue is that a couple get exclusive use of the castle, the Carriage Barn, and all the beautiful grounds. Everyone is there for you, not hotel guests, or guests from another wedding! It’s all yours, and the team are so warm and friendly.

Weddings Ceremonies

There is a choice of location for your ceremony; the Drawing Room in the main house, and the beautiful walled gardens.

The Castle Grounds

As well as the house, the Castle gardens are also Grade II listed, and truly beautiful. It’s such a treat to be so spoilt for choice when choosing where to have your photographs taken. These include your group photographs, and of course your bride and groom and couple portraits. Of course couples will have their own favourite spots, and I can also suggest where would make a good location based on the weather and most importantly the light!

Drinks and canapes on the lawn is a fantastic option, but if the weather isn’t so good, you have the Victorian Winter Garden for your drinks reception. For the wedding breakfast you have the Drawing Room or the beautiful renovated Carriage Barn. Later you can dance the night away in the Moncrieff room.

I love that the venue has room for guests to spread out, take a little walk between stages of the day to enjoy the setting, whilst retaining a really intimate feel. Here are some more photographs captured during real weddings at Wadhurst Castle.

If you are planning to get married or hold your wedding reception at Wadhurst Castle do reach out to me as I would love to hear from you. I really cannot recommend this venue highly enough, and I’d love the opportunity to meet you and to document your special day in this wonderful setting.

I am now taking bookings into 2025 but may still have your 2024 date available.
