Beautiful Wadhurst Castle Wedding Photography – An Exclusive Historical Kent Venue With Fantastic Countryside Views
The Setting

Wadhurst Castle provides the most beautiful setting for a wedding, and it’s been on my ‘hit list’ of ‘must shoot at’ venues for a number of years now. Set in parkland on the Kent Sussex border, the venue provides the most stunning backdrop for a countryside wedding, with exclusive use of the main house, renovated Carriage Barn and amazing gardens.

Something I especially loved about the Castle is that following final preparations in the Bridal Dressing Room, the bridal party can make a dramatic entrance ascending the grand staircase to the ceremony. No busy reception area, bumping into other hotel guests, it’s exclusive, and this for me means relaxed and intimate, my favourite kind of wedding.

After this wedding ceremony, guests spilled out from the Winter Garden onto the South terrace where the bride and groom were welcomed with a confetti line. Then canapés and fizz was served before taking full advantage of the beautiful grounds for bride and groom portraits, as well as the compulsory family group photographs.

The Carriage Barn

The wedding breakfast was served in the clean and bright interior of the carriage Barn, which gives a fantastic contemporary contrast to the main house. I loved the choice of stationery and flowers, so pretty, and the wedding cake was presented so beautifully too.

The Perfect Setting For Bride & Groom Portraits

Being October, we were lucky enough to have some beautiful early evening light – the ‘Golden Hour’, so we headed out once more for a few more portraits. This brief second ‘mini session’ is often far more relaxed than initial portraits. Any post ceremony adrenaline is long gone, friends and family hugged, speeches out the way, and of course drinkies consumed!  So if I’m shooting your wedding and get excited about the ‘beautiful light’, run with it, these golden hour photos are sure to be amongst your favourites.

I absolutely adored capturing this wedding at Wadhurst Castle and hope it’s not too long before I’m back to capture another. The staff (wedding coordinators) were very lovely and most welcoming. To me this always raises a venue up, because when everyone works together for the common good of the couple, ultimately the couple have a brilliant day.

I want to thank my couple for allowing me to share a selection of their very beautiful but personal wedding images and know that if you are visiting this blog because you are considering Wadhurst Castle for your own wedding, you couldn’t make a more perfect choice. J x
