I was delighted when Polly Edwards commissioned me to shoot her exciting 2014 bridal headdress and tiara collection at Bijou Venue’s Botleys Mansion. Recognised worldwide, Polly creates elegant and stylish handcrafted pieces for the discerning bride. Her latest collection offers brides show stopping pieces with a real wow factor!
With a trusted team; Make up artist Carolanne Armstrong, bridal hairstylist Sharon Roberts, ridiculously beautiful model (and in my dreams very own muse) Jade, we gathered at this amazing Surrey wedding venue.
Polly and I worked together before the shoot to plan the look we wanted to achieve. Polly shared some favourite Vogue cover images with me and from there I built a Pinterest board which I named ‘Heavenly’. We liked the idea of getting an ethereal feel to the shoot, and a diverse set of bridal looks within the theme to show Polly’s fabulous collection off to all 2014 brides! Polly loved the idea of using a huge piece of tulle to create the look, and we had lots of fun using it in different ways. We also had an amazing frock by British wedding dress designer Sassi Holdford, which complemented Sharon’s ‘big hair’ look perfectly.
The weather outside was cold and rainy and we even had thunder and lightening, but we were made to feel very welcome by Bijou venue’s Victoria, and this 18th century Palladian mansion’s huge windows and spacious proportions made for the perfect setting to create something rather beautiful.
Polly’s 2014 collection will be unveiled at The White gallery at the end of May. After that pieces can be sourced from bridal retailers such as Miss Bush in Surrey. If you see something here that you think would be perfect for your big day, get in touch with Polly Edwards to find your nearest stockist.
