A Relaxed Wedding Day with Church Ceremony and Reception At The Royal Berkshire Hotel
On Saturday I got to shoot Alexandra and Nick’s fabulous wedding after a year’s delay. In fact it was a year to the day since I met up with them for their pre-wedding shoot on what should have been their original wedding day. So it was so good to finally be shooting their wedding for real, and what a day they had!
I started the day at Alexandra’s mum’s house to document bridal preparations. There was a really relaxed atmosphere with just mum Lynne and bestie and maid of honour Emily, along with hair and makeup ladies. With the ceremony not until 4pm, there was plenty of time and none of the usual rushing around.
The ceremony took place just a few minutes from the house at St Michaels and All Angels Ascot, and with just 30 guests, it was intimate and very lovely. Afterwards, Nick drove his bride on to The Royal Berkshire Hotel in a vintage Triumph, and after a slight detour while guests transferred to the hotel, the couple arrived with barely a hair out of place….. 🙂
The couple had considered really well how to keep their guests entertained; there was the usual fizz, delicious canapés, mini golf, Ice cream and Slush (which I tried and well deserved the brain freeze that followed). We did some family group shots before I took the couple off for some romantic portraits in the Royal Berkshire’s beautiful grounds.
After the wedding breakfast guests enjoyed some more mini golf and if they had space left, more ice cream and cake. Then I topped off my 10 hours cover with a fun sparkler line. A great way to end the day.
Alexander and Nick, I’m so pleased you finally got to have your brilliant wedding day. Congratulations to you both. Enjoy the lakes, and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together. J x
