An inspiring Valentines themed photo shoot at Miss Bush in Surrey to inspire 2017 brides.Editorial
Background
I received a message from Emma at Miss Bush which did rather make me chortle, “I’ve got this thing at the chapel..it’s kind of a low key project.” Why the amusement? Well, if you know Emma as I do, you’ll know there is nothing low key about a Miss Bush project. What appears to be a fun and effortless photo shoot to inspire her brides, is actually the result of a team of hugely talented suppliers injecting time, skills and heaps of originality to bring you amazing results. Add a gorgeous ‘bride’, in this instance, Britain’sBritain’s Next Top Model 2016, Chloe Keenan, and you have something very special indeed.
The Whole Valentines Thing
This shoot features heaps of romantic and whimsical Valentine’s inspiration for brides. You can take just the odd quirky idea away, or go full out for a truly eccentric vibe.
The Team
I’ve been involved in several Miss Bush editorial photo shoots over the years, and it’s always an exciting, super creative and really rewarding collaboration. Plenty of my brides will know Carolanne Armstrong (make up) and Sharon Roberts (hair stylist). They are on my list of recommended suppliers, and I like to refer to us (very tongue-in-cheek) as the ‘A Team’. As someone who sees a bride at the beginning of the day, as well as after a turn around the dance floor, I can tell you that professional hair and makeup ARE important on your big day. What they do not only last, but makes brides, bridesmaids, and very importantly mothers, feel sensational.
Flowers are so important don’t you think? They can create such an impact; colors your day, provide inspiration for your colour scheme, and provide a scent that will bring your memories flooding back. Rosie Orr created amazing florals for our shoot, and showed that just because it’s Valentines you don’t need red roses. The bouquet, the floral arch on the chapel’s entrance, and those bold and beautiful ranunculus in Chloe’s hair were just stunning.
One thing I know for sure, brides are always looking for something original, something they haven’t seen at all their friends’ weddings. Andi Freeman is all about originality. She created a superb heart themed cake for the shoot featuring watercolour detail and finished with paper heart and roses.
Scroll to the end of my post to see Ashleigh’s behind the scenes video of the day. She’s the type of videographer, photographers like me love to work with. She’s subtle and unobtrusive (like me), so she captures everything in a really natural way, dovetailing with everything the photographers does without interfering. This is so important because your assembled team of suppliers should all be working to get the best results for you.
Enjoy the photographs. If you want any specific details about the frocks or flowers, hair and makeup, cake or video, please do get in touch with the ladies by following their links at the end. I hope you all had a very lovely Valentines day. Juliet x
