A Frosty Winter Wedding At Pennyhill Park
Yesterday I shot my final wedding of 2017 at my local venue Pennyhill Park, and what a fabulously frosty and fulfilled day it was.
I’ve been looking forward to Katie and Caleb’s big day for months. I originally met them at a wedding showcase at the hotel, and got to know them pretty well during our Autumn engagement shoot, so I knew the day would be really laid back and relaxed. Of course December weddings can be a little tricky as far as the weather goes, and you only have limited hours of daylight to get some outdoor photos, but we could not have asked for better weather! It was one of those dreamy sunny, yet frosty Winter days all couples dream of for their festive nuptials. Crisp and even, chilly, yet with fabulous light.
I was joined by my assistant Debbie and she started her cover by taking some shots of Caleb, best man Kane, and his groom’s party. Meanwhile I was with Katie, her mum (who looked sensational), and her lovely bridesmaids Ami and Amelia, and not forgetting our little pirate for the day, Arthur!
Katie and the girls looked beautiful (Katie is also a makeup artist), and their Winter white bouquets by Blomster Designs were perfect!
The wedding ceremony took place in the library, and then afterwards drinks were served on the terrace whilst we took some formal and candid photos of the wedding party and guests. Then I stole the bride and groom for a quick 20 minutes to capture some lovely portraits of them complete with frost underfoot and setting sun. Later, the wedding breakfast was served in the Balmoral room and guests entertained by highly emotional, and at the same time, amusing speeches, a caricaturist and magician, before dancing the night away to a live band.
I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this perfect Winter wedding. However, at the centre of it all, it’s this Katie and Caleb that made it such a heartwarming and wonderful day.
