A Sunny & Stylish Outdoor Black Tie Summer Wedding At Pennyhill Park

A Sunny & Stylish Outdoor Black Tie Wedding At Pennyhill Park Hotel

Today’s post is a real feast for the eyes, especially if you love the British summertime and a classic stylish white wedding with black tie. So here is Imogen and Scott’s big day.

I’ve been a recommended photographer at Pennyhill Park hotel for a number of years, but I still look forward to every single wedding I get shoot here, especially when the sun shines and couples get to have their wedding ceremony in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Pavilion. So while guests began to gather on the lily pond terrace, I popped upstairs to documents some of Imogen’s final bridal preparations. I then headed back downstairs for a few relaxed portraits of Scott, and guests making their way down the steps to the fabulous outdoor Pavilion.

I think Pennyhill Park has one of the best locations for the arrival of the bride, with groom and guests watching for the bride to appear at the top of picturesque steps to make her descent to the Pavilion. It’s pure theatre.

Following the ceremony, everyone made their way back to the lily pond terrace for drinks and canapés, and then we took some lovely family group shots. The day had been carefully arranged to allow Imogen and Scott plenty of time to spend with guests, as well as for us to have some fun with the wedding party shots, and bride and groom portraits. I think this is so important as you want to have some beautiful photographs with friends and family, as well as some romantic portraits of just the two of you, but you also must have time to spend with your guests, after all, this may be the only time ever that all these people will be together in one place!

One of the things I really like about Pennyhill Park is the fact that you have some really varied backdrops for your portraits. We started by the Pavilion, with its’ more formal structure, before heading down the hill to the almost California-esque grounds for more relaxed shots with the beautiful backdrop and hazy sunshine. Finally we headed for the main tree lined driveway for yet another look. Imogen and Scott were so laid back and easy to photograph and very happy to just go with the flow. We were joined by Chris from W4 Weddings videography, and I cannot over emphasise how important it is to hire a photographer and videographer who work in similar ways. We both came away beaming with the results.

Following this everyone made their way into the Parkside suite for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Then later cake cutting with confetti cannons and dancing. It really was the perfect day.

Imogen and Scott, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your special day. I hope your photographic memories bring you a lifetime of happiness. J x
