A Small Intimate And Beautiful Outdoor Wedding At Pennyhill Park Hotel
Yesterday I had the enormous pleasure of photographing James and Nicola’s intimate wedding at Pennyhill Park hotel. Due to this whole pesky Covid 19 business, the wedding was my first of 2020 after all my other couples sadly had to postpone to 2021. James got in touch via Instagram a couple of weeks ago and wanted to book straight away (how refreshing). Of course I jumped at the chance of picking up my camera to do what I love doing most; capturing moments of joy. God knows we need it!
The couple originally planned to tie the knot in Vegas in June, but for obvious reasons it couldn’t go ahead, so they decided not to wait and booked an intimate wedding at Pennyhill Park for their family and closest friends. They had planned an intimate wedding anyway, so in actual fact doing things this way actually meant they could have a few more loved ones there to share their day, and Nicola told me she felt it had all worked out for the best.
I have to say, if you are wondering whether you should just go ahead and get married, despite the current restrictions, I say go for it! This wedding was super special and relaxed, and with their outdoor ceremony in the pavilion, it was every bit as beautiful as any wedding I have documented.
We had plenty of time for some relaxed group shots, before going for a walk to capture their bride and groom portraits. Usually this takes around 20 minutes, but the couple requested we spend a little longer, and it was total bliss to be able to take photographs of this adorable couple. Just look how in love they are! Oh and Nicola looked seriously beautiful in a Maggie Sottero dress and her Jimmy Choo pumps.
After relaxed drinks on the terrace, the wedding party moved into the library for the wedding breakfast (with tables safely spaced and family and friend units allocated tables). Despite the regulations, I thought it was all very relaxed and rather lovely, and it’s made me fall in love with smaller weddings all over again.
