An Outrageously Good Summer Wedding At Silchester Farm With A Fabulous Roaming Band, Delicious Food, And Some Four legged Attendees
Yesterday I headed to Silchester Farm in Hampshire to photograph the lovely Callie and Scott’s wedding. Caitlin and Scott, one of last year’s couples, recommended me, and ever since I was booked I have been chomping at the bit to shoot this wedding. Quite simply, it is just my cup of tea!
Callie and Scott are so lovely, and as a photographer it’s always really great to work with a couple who just let me get on with things, happy to try anything I suggest, but mostly just get on with enjoying their day whilst trusting me to capture the look, feel, and moments of the day.
This was my first wedding at Silchester Farm. It’s a relatively new venue and has so much going for it. Callie and Scott held their ceremony in the old Hampshire Threshing Barn, and their reception in the Cow Shed – which is far more glamorous than it sounds! I was absolutely spoilt for choice when choosing an area for group and couples’ shots, the Dutch Barn provided shelter from the odd spot of rain but also fantastic light for the group shots and later bride and groom portraits. Of course we couldn’t not head into one of the adjacent fields to meet some of the animals on the farm. The sheep were eventually rather obliging (and amusing), and pigmy goats were utterly charming (and I would have brought one home in my camera bag had I had space), and the resident piggies, well despite my asking them terribly nicely, they were not coming out to play! 🙂
This was such an amazing wedding. The couple hired Acoustik, a roaming band, and they were brilliant. The band provided music as guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast, and the atmosphere was electric. Everyone joined in, and some even took the mic…
The staff could not have been more helpful and accomodating. It really was an absolute pleasure to be there. Oh and I was joined by videographer Daniel, from CKS Productions, who was also really lovely to work with (I can’t wait to see his highlights).
Callie and Scott and their lovely friends and family made me feel so welcome and were great fun, so thank you to all of you! Mwah!
